Humanity United Action applauds the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s passage of H.R. 2116, the Global Fragility Act on April 9. H.R. 2116, introduced by Representatives Eliot Engel (D-NY), Mike McCaul (R-TX), Adam Smith (D-WA), Ann Wagner (R-MO), Bill Keating (D-MA), and Francis Rooney (R-FL), includes important reforms to how the United States government addresses violent conflict. The bill establishes an interagency initiative to prevent and reduce the drivers of conflict around the world. Critically, the bill continues to have a funding authorization for this new initiative.
Humanity United Action calls on Congress to pass the Global Fragility Act as quickly as possible.
