In response to today’s introduction of the Visa Transparency Anti-Trafficking Act in the House and Senate, David Abramowitz, Managing Director at Humanity United Action, issued the following statement:
“The Visa Transparency Anti-Trafficking Act embodies a bipartisan commitment that is critical to ending human trafficking in all of its forms. Men and women recruited to work in our farm fields, orchards, fisheries, tourist communities, and other seasonal industries are striving, like all workers, to support themselves and their families and are contributing to our economy and our communities. They deserve to work free of exploitation and abuse, and this legislation will help ensure that unscrupulous recruitment and employment practices are exposed.”
